Winter Weekends Winter weekends at Fern are full of amazing opportunities. Enjoy winter sports, indoor activities, educational experiences, and entertainment. You can enjoy all that our Winter Weekend Program offers, as well as the featured activity. Choose the weekend that highlights the activity that intrigues you most, and enjoy dog sledding, horse and cutter ride, snowmobiling, or pond hockey with a former NHL star, at no extra charge. SNOWMOBILE WEEKEND - FEBRUARY 1ST Come out and enjoy one of the best-loved winter sports. At no extra charge we will have Cottage Country Snowmobile Tours on property to give you everything you need to get out and discover this exciting sport, including suits, helmets and boots. Our Snowmobiling Weekend includes a discovery snowmobile tour with guide. People with any previous back problems or pregnant women cannot participate in tours. Winter Weekends are full of fabulous winter activities as well as indoor fun for you to enjoy. VALENTINE'S WEEKEND - PRIVATE HORSE & CUTTER RIDE FEBRUARY 8TH AND 15TH For Valentine's weekends there is nothing more romantic than cuddling under a big bear skin rug, pulled through a wooded area in a one-horse cutter. This experience is included as part of the Valentine package and will be captured in a photo to treasure. On Saturday afternoon, enjoy a cooking demonstration of the five course Valentine's Dinner, an upgraded meal served over extended hours and set to candlelight. Discover just how warm winter can be. Choose from two great weekends, both with the full Winter Weekend Program. Get a jump on romance February 8th or celebrate the weekend of the 15th. Ask for a special presentation package, for you to give to your loved one, announcing your weekend getaway. POND HOCKEY WITH AN NHL HOCKEY PLAYER - FEBRUARY 22ND What could be more fun than pond hockey? Why, it would be pond hockey with one of the great names in Hockey! Fern Resort Bay is cleared and flooded with the resort Zamboni for an afternoon of fun. It's up close and personal on Fern Resort's huge skating rink with a bona fide NHL star, Peter Zezel. DOG SLED RIDES - FEBRUARY 29TH One of the most intriguing and oldest forms of transportation, dog sledding is available as part of the package this weekend. We will be having long distance treks, races and fun with the dogs. We will also have an option for the kids to try as well (some restrictions apply). Join us on the Dog Sledding Winter Weekend and have an experience of a lifetime. Winter Weekend Program FRIDAY EVENING Dinner from 6:00 to 8:00. Release the stress of the week with a delicious dinner set to candlelight, with a background pianist. Following dinner, indulge in wine tasting and a lavish chocolate fountain. After being completely spoiled you can continue your wind-down at Mary Lou's and laugh at the many personalities and voices of ventriloquist Mark Crocker. The evening is not over as you can dance, sing karaoke, play a friendly game of billiards or shuffleboard or visit the internet cafe. If you prefer to enjoy a block buster movie, Bergwen's Theatre will fit the bill. SATURDAY DAY Fern Resort's Weekender program is full of entertainment and activities. Mike Stewart and the staff at Fern have carefully designed an activity program for all ages with elements both indoor and out. Our activities include a snowshoe safari, family olympics, water colour painting with Nancy, cooking with Chef Jed, dancing instruction, fireside bingo, lake curling, Nordic skiing, ice fishing, wine seminars and wine tasting. Remember to bring your skates. Show Time 2007, our famous Staff Lip Sync Show, will be presented in Bergwen's Theatre. SATURDAY EVENING With dinner supervision of the children from our Playvillage, you can take the time to revel in a fabulous four-course dinner complete with a background pianist. Relax and extend your dinner with a coffee and a drink or head down to Mary Lou's for the comedic illusions of Stephan Elvay. You can continue to fill the day with activity, dancing at Mary Lou's and having more fun at the games, or retire to your room and relax in front of the fireplace. SUNDAY MORNING We offer a buffet breakfast from 8:30 to 12:00 noon and a sports program till noon, including an early morning ski safari.

March Break A perfectly designed family time that allows parents and kids to enjoy time together and also explore personal interests. We offer afternoon and evening family entertainment, five different activity programs for different ages, and facilities that will keep everyone in the family entertained.
